CBSC Competitive and Developmental Water Polo

Welcome to CBSC competitive and developmental water polo. Water polo is played in deep water and players must be comfortable treading water, and have a solid swimming background. We offer three competitive teams (12U/14U/16U) and developmental water polo (10U and Splash WP).

Competitive Water Polo (3 groups)

  1. 12U – born 2015/2014**
  2. 14U – born 2013/2012
  3. 16U – born 2011

All competitive players must be able to swim 200 meters unassisted.

Practices M/T/Th/F twice a day (mornings and afternoons) plus tournaments (TBA).

Fee: $380 all summer.

** July only is possible but you must get coach approval waterpolo@cbswimclub.ca

BCSSA is required by all Comp WP players and must be purchased on or before Registration day.

Developmental Water Polo (3 groups)

  1. 10U – born 2016/2017.
  2. Splash program 2018/2019.
  3. Girls only Dev Water Polo – born 2016/2017/2018/2019.

10U

  • Training days (once a day/4 days a week, afternoons).
  • All 10U players must be able to swim 25m unassisted and be able to tread water comfortably, on their
    own, in the big pool.
  • Fee: $105/month (July fee includes playing in CBSC WP tournament).

Splashes

  • Training days (twice a week for 30 mins Mon/Thurs or Tues/Fri, afternoons).
  • Practices will be in the small pool.
  • The program introduces swimming skills, ball handling skills, and basic water polo game knowledge.
  • Fee: $80/month.

Girls only Dev Water Polo

  • Training days (twice per week for 30 mins Tues/Thurs, mornings).
  • Practices will be in the small pool.
  • The program introduces swimming skills, ball handling skills, and basic water polo game knowledge in a fun Girls Only atmosphere.
  • CBSC GIRLS, come try Water Polo!

Note:

  • Girls ages 2018/2019 can do this class alone or in addition to a Splashes Dev WP class of your choice
  • Girls ages 2016/2017 can do this class alone or in addition to a 10U Dev WP class of your choice

BCSSA REQUIRED FOR ALL COMPETITIVE DISCIPLINES

BCSSA (British Columbia Summer Swimming Association) is required for all competitive disciplines (speed swimming, water polo and artistic swim). The annual fee is valid until April 30, 2027 and includes all competitive disciplines in which you are participating. If you participated in Spring Training and have already registered, you do not need to register again. BCSSA registration must be completed on or before Registration Day. Please contact BCSSARegistrar@cbswimclub.ca if you have BCSSA related questions.

PROVINCIALS IN KAMLOOPS – AUG 11/12

  • Meet package and info BCSSA Provincials
  • Hotel information – We have booked a block of rooms in Kamloops and this information will be provided to all the groups via your Parent Coordinator and more information will be provided at the Parent meetings**
  • Provincial Fees – $200 per athlete. These fees help cover meet fees and coaching costs. Fees will be billed to your account in late August.

  • Monday, June 29: Artistic Swimming at 6:15pm
  • Tuesday, June 30: Water Polo at 6:00pm
  • Tuesday, June 30: Competitive Swim at 6:30pm
