2023 Development Water Polo Handout

Welcome to CBSC 2023 competitive and developmental water polo. Water polo is played in deep water and players must be comfortable treading water, and have a solid swimming background. We offer three competitive teams (U12/U14/U16) and developmental (U10 and splashes)

Competitive Water Polo (3 groups)

  • U12 -born 2013/2012
  • U14 – born 2011/2010
  • U16 – born 2009/2008

All competitive players must be able to swim 200 meters unassisted.

Practices M/T/Th/F twice a day (mornings and afternoons) plus tournaments (TBA)

Fee: $150/month

Developmental Water Polo (2 groups)

  • U10 – born 2014/2015
  • Splash program 2015/2016

U10 Training days (once a day/4 days a week, afternoons). All U10 players must be able to swim 25m unassisted and be able to tread water comfortably, on their own, in the big pool. Fee: $80/month.

Splashes training days (twice a week for 30 min. Mon/Thurs or Tues/Fri, afternoons). Practices will be in the small pool. The program introduces swimming skills, ball handling skills, and basic water polo game knowledge. We have included 2015 players in this age group, as well as U10, for the kids, born in 2015, that are not comfortable treading water in the big pool unassisted. Fee: $60/month.

BCSSA (British Columbia Summer Swimming Association)

BCSSA is required for all competitive disciplines (speed swimming, water polo and artistic swim). Annual fee of $42 is valid until April 30, 2024 and includes all competitive disciplines in which you are participating. If you participated in Spring Training and have already registered, you do not need to register again.

Please note that BCSSA is also required for any swimmers in the Developmental swim group who would like to enter any swim meets during the summer (aside from the CBSC B Meet).
