Week 2
Sun or Rain, We Won’t Complain
Happy Friday! The weather may have forced us to reschedule the Seahorse Picnic, but it didn’t dampen our spirits. Plenty of fun was had in Week One!
The next time you’re at the club remember to wear your green and white wristbands, check out the community bulletin board by the gates, and see what’s new at the Concession. There’s always something happening and lots of ways to get involved, so reach out to volunteer@cbswimclub.ca if you’d like to help.
It takes more than candy to make CBSC run. Our volunteers give their time and energy to make this club special, and the pool, our brand new tennis courts, and our grounds started the summer looking amazing thanks to our facilities and garden crew. Please do your part too, toss litter in the proper bins, and remind your kids to stay out of the gardens and to treat the club with care.
The eSeahorse is the best way to stay on top of what’s happening at CBSC each week. If you’re on the membership waitlist, please note that these emails won’t include waitlist updates. That info always comes directly from the Membership team, so no hard feelings if you’d rather unsubscribe.
Read on for what’s happening in Week Two and hope to see you at the Footraces and Pentathlon tonight!

SAILING
Sail Past, July 11th 3pm
This Saturday, join us for the 8th Annual Sail Past, our chance to salute everyone on the water in true CBSC fashion. Ride anything that floats (boats, paddle boards, kayaks, floaties) past the flagship anchored just beyond the swim tank, and show off your CBSC pride. See you on the water and give us a wave!
Did You Know?
Our coaches are certified through Sail Canada’s national CANSail program, and are fully qualified in water safety, risk management, and first aid. This ensures a highly safe, professional environment where your kids can confidently have fun and learn to sail!
New Youth & Adult Racing Course
Interested in racing but didn’t register for Wednesday Night Racing? Good news, our brand-new Youth and Adult Racing course launches Week 7! Open to ages 13+ (born 2013 or earlier) with basic sailing skills, beginners and experienced sailors both welcome. Each session starts with an optional lesson before heading out for some fun, friendly racing.
Girls in Sailing Free Event, July 11th
Girls in Sailing (born 2017 or earlier) come join your favourite coaches for a fun-filled drop-in session on the water. No experience required.
Free Sail and Paddle, Saturdays & Sundays 12 – 4pm
No pre-registration required, just bring your mandatory life jacket. Free Paddle is open to experienced adults and to youth who’ve completed Paddle Board Orientation or lessons. For sailing, graduates of Family Sail, Sail Orientation, or Sail Green (or other experienced sailors) can take a boat out solo; everyone else can head out with one of our coaches.

REMINDERS
Concession
Concession is up and running with all the classics plus new additions this year. We’ve got coffee, hot chocolate, wraps, sandwiches, baked goods, pepperoni and cheese sticks, hummus and crackers, cheese strings, fig bars, and more. Keep an eye out, new items pop up all summer!
Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9am – 3pm (note: we are closed during Family Swim days).
Road Safety
Summer means more bikers around Crescent Beach, many of them young and still learning the rules of the road. Give yourself time in case of a train, don’t speed, and remember bikers and drivers share the road. We encourage drivers to stick to the main roads since our younger members often use the side streets to get to and from artistic swim. Thanks for keeping Crescent Beach safe for everyone!
