Week 4
We Still Get Four More
At CBSC, there are always extra special or fun suprises that make heart-warming stories to share, and that’s part of the fabric of our club. People stepping up in many different ways both big and small without being asked to do so because they love the club. We have a couple of those to share this week.
First, at the beginning of the summer we were in need of a more robust Wi-Fi network. The MacAulay Family caught wind of our need and stepped up and donated some commercial tech equipment and expertise to resolve our Wi-Fi problem. Thank you MacAulay Family!
Second, at the Gala on Saturday take notice of the new lane numbers at the bulk head. The idea came about in collaboration with Adrian Phillips (BCSSA guy), Rod McNeil (Handyman), and Claudia Phillips (Artist and Head Comp Swim Coach). Rod came up with cutting and putting a hinge between two table menu stands which solved any folding/storage and rusting/wear issues, and the Artist was given a general concept of “comforting places or events at CBSC” as a theme, with only one artistic limitation being that lane 6 HAD to be Bingo themed (“Clickity Click…. Sixty SIX!). Claudia set about her work, adding in colours with CBSC special places/things/events: Lane 1 is footraces, Lane 2 sailing, Lane 3 tennis, Lane 4 Fun Day, Lane 5 the tank, Lane 6 Bingo!, Lane 7 the bottom of the small pool, Lane 8 a Gala or B Meet relay at CBSC. And there you have it – beautiful, friendly and inviting NEW lane markers!
