No Tariffs Here, and the Fun is Free!
It’s hard to keep track of which tariff is coming and going, and it has some people’s heads on a swivel. Thank goodness for reliable and fun CBSC for keeping us centred and knowing what’s happening next from week to week.
And we all know that sunscreen is a necessity, but it still doesn’t completely prevent your skin from changing a few shades darker, or more red. Now might be a good time to start comparing those tan lines, and see who is sporting the best CBSC summer tan. Do you have a tennis sock tan, a sailor sunglass & lifejacket tan, a swimmer “I changed my swimsuit’ tan, or a CBSC wristband tan? It’s all good because having a not-so-perfect tan is a badge of honour. It means you’re out there doin’ stuff!
This weekend and next week is going to be buuusy! So to keep track of everything make sure to save the eSeahorse so you can refer back to it.
Swim and Tennis Fun Days!
Get ready for July FUN DAY! The Theme this month is Outer Space! Dress up in costume and join your coaches in your regular lesson for candy and surprises!
Swim Fun Day: Friday, July 25
Tennis Fun Days: During your last July lesson on either Thursday, July 24, Friday, July 25, or Saturday, July 26.
August Lessons Start on Monday, July 28
Are you considering a change in your family’s August lesson schedule? Any refund requests for withdrawing from a program must be received in the office two business days prior to the start of a lesson. The deadline to withdraw from August lessons that begin on Monday, July 28 is 4pm on Tuesday, July 22. A $15 Administration Fee will be applied to all withdrawals. SWIMMING
10U, 12U and 14U Water Polo Tournament
Wednesday, July 23
Next Wednesday, July 23, CBSC will be hosting our annual water polo tournament for teams across the Lower Mainland. 7 other water polo clubs and a combined 30 teams will be battling it out in the pool! Come out and support the seahorses as they compete against some of the best teams in water polo. The coaches have been preparing the athletes to be able to handle up to four games in the one day tournament. Unfortunately, Family Swim will be cancelled on this day as the tournament runs from 12-8:30pm.
JULY TANKER SWIM & GALA SIGN UP
The July Tanker Swim takes place at the tanks located at The Point, on Saturday, July 26 at 9am.
- The July Swim Gala takes place at the club pool and begins immediately following the Tanker Swim.
- Sign Up sheets are located outside the Clubhouse.
- Deadline for sign-up is 3pm on Monday, July 21st in order to be in the program.
- Deck entries will be allowed.
You are eligible to participate in the Gala if you have attended Learn to Swim Lessons, Speed Swimming, Artistic Swimming, Waterpolo, Lifesaving, Junior Lifeguard Club or Triathlon in July or you are a CBSC member 15 years to 18 years.
- Completion of a Tanker swim is preferable before the first Gala.
- You must sign up in your specific age group. Your age is as of the day of the Gala.
- Participants may only register in one Freestyle event in their age group but may sign up for as many other individual races as they wish in their age group, as well as a relay.
- Relays will be assigned on Gala Day.
- “O” Cat Swimmers: please put an “O” next to your name. Please note: “O” Cat swimmers are ineligible for relays.

Please sign up via ActiveNet by Monday, July 21st at 8pm. Drop-ins are not allowed.
Event times are structured to reduce conflicts with the CBSC Water Polo Tournament. Hope to see as many kids out on the court as possible!

- 10 & under boys: 3:30-5:30 pm
- 12 & under girls: 9:00-10:30 am
- 12 & under boys 10:30 am-12:00 pm
- 14 & under girls and boys: 12:00-2:00 pm

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.

Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or just starting out, our regatta offers races for all skill levels—advanced, beginner, families, and adults. It’s the perfect chance to showcase your sailing skills, meet fellow club members, and enjoy a fun-filled day by the sea.

7th Annual Semiahmoo Cup – A Fun-Filled Family Relay!

Calling all swimmers and runners—of every age and ability! The historic Semiahmoo Cup is back, and everyone is welcome to take part in this fun, family-friendly relay.
What began in 1922 as a spirited rivalry between the WRASA Killer Guppies and the CBSC Seahorses has grown into a beloved community tradition. This unique event features an ocean swim, beach run, and pool laps—plus plenty of laughs and good cheer.
🏁 After the race, head back to Blackie Spit for a post-race breakfast!
Save-On Foods is supplying croissants and cookies, and Dudes is bringing hot chocolate and coffee.

REMINDERS
Swimming This Weekend
On Saturday, there is NO Water Running in the morning, and NO Family Swim due to the PNO set up. Family Swim Sunday is 2-6pm (adjusted time).
As you can see, the events that bring our club together outside of our swim, tennis and sail programs continue to thrive thanks to our robust volunteer group of well over 150 adults who come together to do everything from hold stop signs at the Snail River Run, set up and clean up at the PNO, running the Seahorse Picnic or Bingo, to judging artful and creative builds at the upcoming Sandcastle Contest, and supporting our youngest fish enthusiasts with hooks and bait and fish removal at the Bullhead Derby. Our club truly does run on this spirit of volunteerism that keeps these traditions alive and well, and we are grateful for the participation of so many who lend their time and energy at meets and competitions, and ALL of our club events.
