Week 1
Was Tons of Fun!
The Seahorse Picnic last night was so well done with so many kid-friendly, fun activites: tattoos, BINGO cards, ball toss, and freezies to name a few. It was the perfect CBSC kick-off to summer and a great opportunity to mingle and meet coaches, leaders, the board, and staff. The first week has been everything we have waited for for 10 loooong months!
CBSC is the best place to get out and try new things, and play outside in this beautiful place – Crescent Beach. If there’s something you’ve been thinking of doing, no matter your age, get out and do it!
SWIMMING
Swimming has two NEW programs:
Intro to Springboard Diving – This is a FUN intro to diving – not a competitive discipline, and we start from the basics. If you are unsure, come and talk to the Coaches that will be running the program – Coach Tobey, Coach Willem, Coach Chloe B. Coach Tayrn and Coach Ty
Girls Only Dev Water Polo – Coach Georgia, Coach Char, Coach Bernie. Super fun, hang out with our female coaches that want to show you why they LOVE water polo. This takes place in the little pool so no worries about swimming ability. Fun fact, Coach Georgia plays water polo at the University of Toronto.
If you are currently enrolled in either of these classes and invite a friend to join, your name will go into a MYSTERY PRIZE DRAW!

EVENTS & HAPPENINGS
CONCESSION IS BACK IN SESSION!
We’re kicking things off with some fresh new options and a few returning favourites.
On Mondays and Thursdays, Crescent Coffee House is bringing in a delicious assortment of treats—chocolate muffins, blueberry muffins, cruffins, banana bread, cookies and danishes. We’ve also added wraps to the lineup: chicken, turkey, and veggie for a solid lunch option with a bit of protein.
Tuesdays and Fridays, COBS is back with their popular plain, and ham & cheese croissants, fun buns, and a tasty mix of scones like lemon blueberry, chocolate, and white chocolate raspberry.
A few favourites are still sticking around too: Mr. Noodles, Kashi fruit bars, granola bars, and Bubly. And NEW this year—chocolate milk!
And don’t forget, about Freezie Friday—perfect for a cool treat to wrap up the week!
Swing by and grab a snack!

REMINDERS
A couple of important reminders to note:
BIKES STOLEN
We have had some bikes stolen from outside the pool recently. Some were unlocked but some were locked up and still taken so the thieves came prepared. You can lock bikes up on the chain running along the fence line.
Please report any suspicious activity at the club or in the parking lot to the office or any staff member.
PIER JUMPING SAFETY
While pier jumping is not an official activity at CBSC, it is a traditon that many CB’ers participate in. There have been low tides in the past week at Crescent Beach (and will continue throughout the summer), and we’ve heard from several people who have jumped off the pier, that they’ve hit the ocean floor at low tide. YIKES! This is a very dangerous condition that could result in serious injury, and we encourage you to be tide aware and NOT jump off the pier at low tide.
7pm tonight rounds out the first week with Footraces and Pentathlon! We’ll see you ‘in front of Oppenheimer’s’ at the grassy area near the tank for some candy from the coaches, socializing, and a messy Penthathlon race following Footraces!
