Week 3
Jump In and We All Win
Welcome to one of the most action-packed weeks of the summer! There’s so much fun going on.
Show your CBSC pride by floating by and waving during tomorrow evening’s Sail Past in front of the Tank. Enjoy the generational mentorship we’re known for at the Adult & Child tennis tourney on Sunday. Come cheer on the CBSC swimmers at Wednesday’s B Meet. The kids will be dancing their candy-filled hearts away at the Seahorse Dances on Thursday. See who’s the last one standing at Bingo, right after Footraces. And make sure you have your PNO tickets, we hear there are some pretty incredible auction items to be won! You might even hear a familiar voice amongst the yee-haws and boot stomps.
None of these events happen without our incredible volunteer coordinators, but they need the added help of all our members, in ways big and small, to make them a success. Volunteering at CBSC is at the heart of who we are. Why? Because that’s how we connect with each other, show our love for the club, and keep alive the traditions we’ve enjoyed for 108 years.
Read on for more details about what’s happening in Week Three and how you can dive into your best CBSC summer yet!
SWIMMING
CBSC “B” Meet, July 15th 3pm
Come cheer on the CBSC swimmers in the afternoon. We also need concession volunteers to keep our swimmers and fans fed (email volunteer@cbswimclub.ca to sign up).
July Tanker Swim, July 25th 9am
Takes place at the Tanks by the point. Eligible tankers in lessons will be contacted by their swim coach with a letter handed out in class. If your child is in Strokers 1 or higher and has never swum the tank but wants to participate, please let their coach know right away.
July Gala Sign-Up
The July Gala takes place at the club pool immediately following the Tanker Swim. Sign-up sheets will be located outside the clubhouse starting on Monday, July 13th. Sign-up deadline is 3pm Monday, July 20th. No deck entries for individual races. Deck entries for relays close at 11am on Gala day.
Eligible to participate: anyone who attended Learn to Swim, Speed Swimming, Artistic Swimming, Waterpolo, Lifesaving, Junior Lifeguard Club, Triathlon, or Diving in July, or any CBSC member aged 15-18. Completing a Tanker swim before your first Gala is preferable.
Sign up in your specific age group (age as of Gala day). You may enter as many individual races as you like in your age group, plus a relay (relay teams assigned on Gala day). “O” Cat swimmers: mark an “O” next to your name; note that “O” Cat swimmers are not eligible for relays.

VOLUNTEER
Volunteering at CBSC is one of the best ways to connect with other members and truly feel the magic of this incredible community. It’s also a great way to see your favourite events from a whole new angle and watch your kids up close!
It’s a busy week for volunteer opportunities: we need concession help and food donations for the B Meet, hands for PNO set-up/take-down, Snail River Run helpers, and more.
Email volunteer@cbswimclub.ca to pitch in, meet some new faces, catch up with familiar ones, and be part of the CBSC spirit.
