Summer Still Totally in Full Swing!
Happy BC Day long weekend! After we had a bit of a reprieve on Monday and Tuesday with the rain to cool us off a couple of days, fear not, summer is back with a vengeance. Our club offers so many ways to get outside and get active and there is something for everyone – this weekend is the Sandcastle Contest which is a family-favourite event, and the Semiahmoo Cup v WRASA is next weekend.
Though it might be hard when you’re a sports fan because there is so much amazing Olympic viewing to enjoy. Summer McIntosh is quickly becoming the GOAT and dominating the pool while our women’s soccer team has something to prove to everyone.
Please note, Monday, AUGUST 5 will be a regular lesson day.

Speed Swimming
Good luck to our competitive swimmers at the Fraser South Regional Championship this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Go Seahorses!
Artistic Swimming Exhibition
Wednesday, August 7
Join us this Wednesday, August 7 at 6:00pm at the CBSC Main Pool for the CBSC Artistic Swimming Exhibition. This year we are also hosting the North Delta Sunfish! It’s a fantastic opportunity for Star swimmers to witness the skill and artistry of competitive art swimming. Following the exhibition, don’t miss out on the CBSC Alumni Water Polo game at 7pm!
Water Polo
Congrats to our Water Polo teams this week at Regionals! Awesome support and cheering from all of our players and from our CBSC parents, too! Here’s how the teams finished: 12U bronze 🥉 and fourth, 14U gold 🥇 and 4th, Ocat second🥈.
WP Alumni Game
Wednesday, August 7
Calling all past and present CBSC water polo coaches! Please join us for our annual CBSC alumni water polo game, Wednesday August 7, at 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come cheer on and watch our past and present coaches play our current U16 team.
Kids Triathlon
Sunday, August 18
The annual CBSC Kids Triathlon is coming up on Sunday, August 18th at 8:30 am. Registration is now open and closes on August 15th. Age groups are 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15 years old (by Dec. 31st). Check ActiveNet for more details about the race distances, and to register for this awesome event! The cost is $5 and space is limited. TENNIS
Tennis Carnival
Wednesday, August 7, 2 – 4pm
Junior CBSC tennis players, come on out to the Tennis Carnival and play some games, win some cool prizes and test your skills! The Tennis Carnival is a fun event for all Jr. CBSC players registered in July and August.
SAILING
The Sail Past on Sunday was a glorious celebration of summer on the water on anything that floats! The CBSC sailors also put on a great show of their nautical skills.

The Semiahmoo Cup
Saturday, August 10
The Sixth Annual Semiahmoo Cup is taking place 9am Saturday, August 10 at Blackie Spit. Be a part of this historic relay race started in 1922 between arch rivals, the WRASA Killer Guppies and the CBSC Seahorses. This fun relay race will involve an ocean swim, beach run and laps in the pool.
Breakfast followed by the Trophy Ceremony. Save-On Foods is sponsoring croissants and cookies and Dudes is supplying the hot chocolate and coffee. BYOM – Bring your Own Mug!
We are welcoming swimmers and runners of all ages. This is a fun event for the whole family.

Kidd Medal Photograph
Sunday, August 25
Calling all KIdd Medalists! Did you know, this summer is the 100th anniversary of the Kidd medal, recognizing our 6 youngest tank swimmers of the summer? To help recognize this milestone, we are going to take a photograph of all past Kidd medalists at 3:45pm at the Footraces location, just before the start of the August Gala award ceremony. Please help us to pass along this information to all generations. Looking forward to seeing everyone on August 25th.
PENTATHLON
Friday, August 2
- Registration is over for the August 2nd Pentathlon.
- If you are registered, meet at the lifeguard tower right after Footraces.
- Last date is Friday, August 16
- FREE for ages 8 – 12 (must be 8 as of August 31)
- MUST BE A STRONG SWIMMER and comfortable swimming in the ocean.
- Be prepared to do some ocean swimming, running and even get messy, depending on the theme of the day!
- Register through your online ActiveNet account starting at 9am on Saturday.
- Deadline is 2pm on Thursday, August 15.
