Facilities Upgrade and Revitalization - CBSC Capital Campaign
It's official! Construction has begun!
Thank you to the over 190 families who have supported our campaign. The capital campaign has surpassed its target of $1.2 million!
Fundraising Campaign - Pledge forms due by September 30, 2020
We have achieved our financial goal and this is fantastic. As we know from this year, pivoting is sometimes required, and the more we can raise will help make the final product be what we want. If you have not been able to donate up to now, please consider joining the team that makes this happen.
We have made a decision to close the fundraising campaign by Sept 30th, as we need to begin planning for the Summer 2021 grand opening and thank you events.
A donation pledge form can be found here.
To the families who have sent in their pledge form(s), it would be very helpful if you remembered your payment dates. Remember, e-transfers can be sent to treasurer@cbswimclub.ca and cheques can be mailed to: CBSC, Box 45020, Ocean Park PO, 12851 16th Ave, Surrey, BC, V4A 9L1.

ONCE IN A CENTURY OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT THE CBSC!
The CBSC Facilities Upgrade and Revitalization project has received overwhelming positive support. The plan honours the heritage and history of our club while upgrading and ensuring that the facilities will be adequate for our programs and sustainable for decades to come.
WHY ARE WE EMBARKING ON THIS SIGNIFICANT PROJECT?
After 60 years, it is time to undertake a major upgrade of our pools to ensure they last for future generations. The health & safety of our members is a top consideration, and the pools need upgrading to current standards to support our growing needs. The surrounding structures are inadequate and need replacing so that we can deliver our programs and continue our CBSC traditions. Escalating maintenance costs and potential pool failure are the main drivers of this project.
SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES:
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
WHAT IS THE TIMELINE?
Construction crews will commence work in September 2020, with construction scheduled for completion by Summer 2021.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Consider supporting our CBSC community with a financial commitment to ensure these much needed upgrades happen. This type of improvement requires more than moral support. It requires families and individuals to provide financial support to ensure this much needed project proceeds and is completed on-time.
The funds may be pledged over 2 years (2019 and 2020) and are tax deductible. CBSC will also accept share contributions which offer the donor additional tax benefits. For more information on donating securities, please contact cabinet members: Geoff Funke (geoff.funke@scotiawealth.com) or Tannis Pratt (tpratt@odlumbrown.com).
